Description
Senbazuru - A thousand paper cranes.
This is part of my project during my course in graphic design here in UWE Bristol.
Based of the Japanese legend of granting a wish by making 1000 cranes, i folded 1000 paper cranes (yes, one thousand of them.. thought i had some friends help me fold a few) from different paper and card stock and hung them out on a tree near the Bower Ashton campus and allowed them to fend for themselves in UK weather.
Took about 3 weeks to fold them, a week to string them up and a few hours to hang them all up in the tree. Every few days I would go back to the site and take pictures of the papercranes in the tree. This is just one of the pictures that i took during the whole process.
Photos were then sorted out and compiled into a book.
Its been a rather fun experience, just that i dont think ill be folding another 1000 paper cranes again anytime soon.
